The Wyevale system of collecting water is very comprehensive; all rainwater is piped from various glasshouse roofs along with irrigation water that is collected from the rest of the nursery via land drains.

Last year more than 13,000 M³ were recycled and used around the nursery, this means less water is abstracted from ground water levels through boreholes. This year we are aiming to recycle 20,000 M³.

The water is then cleaned by a system that uses naturally occuring ozone thereby reducing the need for chlorination and other damaging chemicals.
