THE CUSTOMERS of one of the country’s top commercial nurseries have helped shape the future of its Point of Sale (POS) (July, 2014).
Wyevale Nurseries in Hereford says it has listened to the feedback from garden centre plant buyers and has re-branded and re-worked its POS so that plants are now ‘king’.
Sales and Marketing Director, Adam Dunnett said: “We’ve given our bespoke labels and correx boards a complete redesign having listened to what our customers have told us they would like and what sells plants. They requested that we made the plant image king and ensured the name was clear and easy to read. They also said we should major on the British-grown message.
KEEN gardeners who are looking for new plants for 2015 need hunt no further.
One of the UK’s leading commercial nurseries in Hereford is unveiling a new Forsythia and several other new plants for 2015 and these will be available from all good garden centres nationwide in the spring.
Adam Dunnett, Sales and Marketing Director at Wyevale Nurseries, said: “Following the launch of Forsythia ‘Spring Show Off’ in the USA, Wyevale Nurseries, which recently re-organised from three companies into one, is offering the plant in the UK.
STAFF at one of the UK’s leading commercial nurseries has this month (July, 2014) presented a cheque for £5,225 to Greenfingers.
The team at Wyevale Nurseries in Hereford raised funds for the charity, which creates gardens at children’s hospices, by taking part in a 30 mile sponsored walk.
Adam Dunnett, Sales and Marketing Director at Wyevale Nurseries, explained: “We are so pleased that we have raised £5,225 for the charity. We thought our final total was £4,500 but people just kept donating after the walk, which was fantastic. Our initial aim was to raise £1,000 so we are delighted to have smashed our target.
SHEILA Jackson has this month (June, 2014) joined an exclusive group of individuals in ‘the 25 year service club’ at one of the UK’s leading commercial nurseries.
The 63-year-old, who is the receptionist at Wyevale Nurseries in Hereford, joins 22 other colleagues who have all worked for the company for 25 years or more.
Adam Dunnett, Sales and Marketing Director at Wyevale Nurseries, explained: “We would like to congratulate Sheila on reaching 25 years’ of service. She is an integral part of our team and we would like to thank her for her commitment to the company. We look forward to many more years ahead.
KYLE ROSS from Pershore College has recently (June, 2014) been presented with Wyevale Nurseries’ Peter Williamson Travel Award.
The 20-year-old, who is a first year Higher National Diploma (HND) student, scooped the accolade after wowing the judges with a written submission and in an interview.

It was designed to encourage a student towards a career in nursery stock production by assisting with a practical placement at a nursery in the Netherlands.
