Are we growing the right plants?

Our Product Development Manager will be on a panel debating the question ‘Are we growing the right plants’ at the Horticultural Trades Association (HTA) National Plant Show on Tuesday, June 20.

Ben Gregory will be taking part in the discussion lead by George Bullivant of Garden Forum, which will explore the ideas around breeders and growers producing plants that retailers want, on Tuesday at the show at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire.

Twenty-four-year-old Ben said: “I am very excited to be taking part in this debate and be on the panel with other industry experts. I hope lots of people come and join us at the show as it will be a very interesting discussion.

“For this session George will be joined on stage by me as well as a breeder and a retailer. We will tackle the issues ahead and looking at how garden centres buy and sell plants. What prompted the idea for the debate was a conversation George had with a plant breeder who said that they develop lots of great new plants, but retailers and growers don’t get behind them.”

The panel session will take place in the Seminar Area at 3.30pm at the HTA National Plant Show.
